2018 Colorado Finance Summit
13 Dec 2018 - 16 Dec 2018, Vail, Colorado
Organized by the Finance Faculty of the University of Colorado's Leeds School of Business
We are pleased to invite submissions from all areas of finance to be considered for presentation at the 2018 Colorado Finance Summit. We encourage both theoretical and empirical contributions. We favor early work that has not appeared at other conferences and we favor papers authored by juniors. The final program will consist of 8 to 10 papers, plus a session with presentations by current (2018-2019) job market candidates. At the end of the conference, we will present an award for best paper presentation by a job candidate, as well as an award for the best paper on the regular program.
The conference will be held at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort, beginning with a reception on the evening of December 13th and ending after the morning session on December 16th. Invited attendees will have ample opportunity to explore Vail, and its outdoor opportunities.
We expect that the conference program will be exciting and innovative, and we anticipate a high level of interaction among the participants, both during and between sessions.

Special Issue of Finance: "Quantitative Corporate Finance: Where Do We Stand?"
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Professor Leland's article "Corporate Debt Value, Bond Covenants, and Optimal Capital Structure"
In 1994, Professor Leland published in the Journal of Finance an article that gave a new impulse to the area of quantitative corporate finance. The article was awarded the Stephen A. Ross Prize in 2008, reflecting the major impact the publication had on the field. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of that contribution, Finance, the academic journal of the French Finance Association, will publish a special issue surveying the progress of that literature and presenting some new research challenges.
Research papers related to the field of quantitative corporate finance (theoretical and/or empirical) are welcome. The submission process will be similar to that of regular articles submitted to the journal. We expect all papers to be refereed within less than 3 months (link for submission http://www.en.affi.asso.fr/166-submit-form.htm).
IMPORTANT DATES:
- Deadline for submissions: November 30th, 2018.
- Notification of conditional acceptance: February 28th, 2019.
- Deadline for final manuscripts: April 30th, 2019.
- Publication date: Summer 2019.
We are pleased to announce that Professor Leland will contribute to the special issue.

The 15th Annual Meeting of the Financial Research Association
December 8 and 9, 2018, Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada
http://www.fraconference.com
Submissions Begin: July 1, 2018
Submission Deadline: August 31, 2018
Dual Submission Opportunity: The Review of Asset Pricing Studies and The Review of Corporate Finance Studies
The program committee of the Financial Research Association seeks new finance papers of general interest to the profession for the 15th annual meeting of the Association. We are specifically looking for papers that have not been submitted to a journal and have been neither presented nor scheduled to be presented at the Western Finance Association meeting or the ASSA meeting. The selection process is very competitive. Last year's acceptance rate was less than 5%. All papers will be presented by a discussant, after which the authors will have an opportunity to respond. The meeting provides an excellent forum for authors to obtain detailed feedback from an accomplished and active group of finance scholars.
BEST PAPER AWARD: The Financial Research Association will present the BlackRock Best Paper Award, as selected by the conference attendees, regardless of research area. Authors of the winning paper will share a prize of $5,000. We will present a Best Discussant Award, which will be accompanied by a prize of $5,000.
MICHAEL J. BARCLAY AWARD: The Association will present the Michael J. Barclay Award to the young scholar who submits the best solo-authored paper. Young scholars include current PhD students and assistant professors who have held their PhD for less than three years.
PH.D. STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS: The Association will provide up to three travel grants of $1,000 each for attending Ph.D. students. Submissions will be eligible if all authors are Ph.D. students.
DUAL SUBMISSION OPTION: Papers submitted to the FRA can opt to participate in the Dual Submission Program with The Review of Asset Pricing Studies and The Review of Corporate Finance Studies at no charge. See the SFS website at http://sfs.org/dualsubmissionpolicy for complete details concerning the Dual Submission Program.
PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Papers may be submitted at http://www.fraconference.com/submit. There is no limit to the number of papers that one author may submit. Submitting authors will be notified of paper selection in the beginning of October. Once the program is set, the program committee will invite a limited number of participants to register for the meetings.

The 2019 Journal of Accounting Research conference will be held at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business on May 10-11, 2019. Funding for the conference is generously provided by the KPMG Foundation, in conjunction with the Accounting Research Center at Chicago Booth.
To encourage submissions across a broad set of research areas, the theme of the 2019 conference is "Current Topics in Accounting Research." We invite the submission of theoretical, empirical, and experimental studies that advance our understanding of any area of accounting research.
As is traditionally the case with the Journal of Accounting Research conference, papers selected for inclusion in the conference are published in the annual conference issue in the spring of the year following the conference (the inclusion of conference papers in the conference issue is, as always, subject to satisfactory resolution of the editorial review process).

The submission fee is $500.00. The deadline for submission of papers is December 3, 2018.
